Before your boudoir photography session

To make a booking

At the bottom of this page, there is a contact form. Please fill in the details and send it off. I will get back to you in most cases the same day. We will discuss the preferred day of the shoot and the location. I have a questionnaire which I send to all my clients. In there, among other things, I ask you about the style of boudoir you like the comfort level you have with your body. This information helps me prepare for the session and also makes me aware of the boundaries you are unwilling to cross in terms of posing and directing.

There is also a request about allowing me to use the images on Instagram and my website. There is no requirement to agree to that, of course, but if you do, it would help other women see what to expect from a boudoir session with me.

The boudoir photography session fee needs to be paid to confirm the booking. The fee pays for makeup, the session itself, editing of the images, and the online gallery. Digital images, albums, or prints can be purchased when the final images are uploaded to your private online gallery.

The location of your boudoir photo shoot

My studio is located in Surry Hills. However, I am happy to take pictures with you at other locations. Your home may be the easiest choice, as you would feel most comfortable there. If you are a visitor from interstate, then your hotel room, or Airbnb apartment could be a good place.

I am a natural light boudoir photographer, so good light is essential to create beautiful images. A large window and curtains in your bedroom may be enough to create a photo studio. If you’re planning to shoot in your own home, please let me know beforehand, so we can discuss the available lighting. Also, if you live far from Sydney, additional travel costs may apply.

During your boudoir photography session

Makeup and outfits

Your boudoir photo session starts with a makeup session.  After that, we will go over the outfits you brought and choose the most flattering and your favorite ones for the shoot. You will need 2-3 different outfits. These can be your lingerie, of course, but also your favorite t-shirt, loose shirts, jeans, leather jacket. What I suggest is to bring the clothes that make you feel confident and sexy, and we decide what to use during the shoot.

Posing and directing for great boudoir images

I don’t expect you to know how to pose for boudoir pictures, but more importantly, I don’t want you to worry about it. It is my job to make you look great; all I want from you is to be comfortable and to trust me.

Every one of my photo sessions starts with a chat about posing. I will tell you what makes a great boudoir image, and I will show you what to do. With a few simple rules of glamour posing we can make great art. Of course, I will guide you and direct you during the shoot, as we go from one setup to another.

You don’t have to be a model, and even if you’ve never been photographed before, I am sure that we get some great images of you. So please don’t worry about the session and about the posing and enjoy the experience. I have that covered.

What’s your comfort level?

You are in full control of how far you want to push your posing and outfits. Just do what you are comfortable doing. Some boudoir clients want lingerie and no nudity, some ask for much more. It’s your choice.

My photography style involves a play of light and shadows. Choosing the right light and angle can allow us to be more daring in our posing without revealing too much. I do make suggestions as to what may look good, but ultimately you’re in full control.

After your boudoir photography session

Images selection

I may take hundreds of images during our photoshoot. That is the fun part of being a photographer. The job starts with selecting the best images from the session. I expect to get at least 50 great shots and I will show you every photograph that I think you may like.

All the images I select will be uploaded to your private, password-protected online gallery. From there you can choose the number of images you’d like to purchase. You can get just a few pictures or the entire collection; It’s up to you.

Boudoir albums and prints

I do recommend getting a nice professional photo album as a home for your boudoir images. I use a supplier that creates great quality albums at a very reasonable price. I’ll design the album myself and if you choose to get one, you will receive a copy within 4 weeks from the day you sign off on the final design. Photo albums are optional, of course, but they do look beautiful.

You can also order framed prints or canvas enlargements. These images I will enlarge in photoshop to the desired size. I’ll get them professionally printed by a company that offers 75 years quality guarantee. In other words, they are pretty good at what they do.

The session fee will confirm the booking and will pay for the session itself, editing of images, hair, and makeup.

Digital images, photo albums, and print products can be purchased when you see the final, edited pictures. Customers would spend between $750 and over $2000 for digital images and album packages.

I offer packages that combine photo albums and digital files at a discount and I will be happy to design a package that is perfect for you. For details please contact me using the contact form below.

The session fee needs to be paid before the shoot, and it will confirm the booking for you.

Your boudoir session will take place in our studio in Surry Hills.

Can we shoot in my home?

Absolutely. Your home is where you will feel comfortable. One thing is very important, though. For my style of photography, we’ll need a room with good natural light. If you have that available in your home, then we’re set.

For visitors to Sydney

If you’re visiting Sydney from out-of-town, you can combine it with a boudoir session in a Sydney hotel room. Give me some notice, please, to organise my schedule. Also, when you are booking a hotel room with the intention to do a photo session, please get a room with the biggest window or best natural light.

Most of my work is done in Sydney, but I have shot in Melbourne and on The Gold Coast. Additional travel cost may be added, but I am happy to travel

One way you can save on your boudoir experience is to book it with a friend, or 2. If you have a friend who wants to do a shoot, book together and get a discount on the session fee as well as on the digital files and printing products.

If you want to do your own makeup, the session fee will also be discounted. Use my Contact page to ask any question you may have.

Don’t worry about posing. It’s my job to make you look good. I am a photographer, not just a guy with an expensive camera. I will teach you how to pose sexy, and if need be I will show you as well. Just leave it to me and enjoy the experience.

Only if you want to. I will never post your images on the internet unless you give me permission to do that. I maintain an Instagram account, a Facebook page, and of course my website. All images on these platforms are of women who have given me permission to use their photos.

If you don’t want that, no one will see your images but you.

I say within 3 weeks the edited, final images will be in your private gallery. It usually takes less than that.

I retouch every image that I deliver. In most cases it involves simple color correction, sometimes removing some skin imperfections. I don’t airbrush the skin to make you look like a porcelain doll. And I don’t change your body to make you look like someone else.

Absolutely. I will be happy to edit your images in B&W. Some images just look better and more classy in Black and White.

If you choose to purchase digital files only, then you can print your own pictures and frame them. The files are big enough for at least A4 or even A3 format.

If you’re planning to frame a big enlargement, then please use Photoshop to properly enlarge the files, otherwise, the quality may deteriorate.

If you want me to print and frame a large image, just select the file and I will do the rest. I’ll enlarge the original file to the size appropriate for the print size and I will get that file professionally printed on a good quality printing paper. They will also be framed by them and delivered straight to you.

With albums, you get to decide the images that will go in, and you will have the last word for the design too. Once you agree on the look, I will design the album for you and have it printed by a reputable album maker. It will be delivered directly to your home within 3 weeks.

I am sure that you are already familiar with Boudoir Photography. You would not be on this page if you weren’t. But just in case you are still unsure, this is what Wikipedia says about the art of Boudoir Photography.
